She was the only child of Henry and Harriette Ditch. She was married at Roseville on November 13, 1884, to Jerome C. Nisely of that city. The following year in 1885 they moved to Edgar, Nebraska, and the next spring in 1886 they settled on a farm four miles northeast of Edgar. Read More	The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE) Fri, Feb 2, 1940 - pg. 1 Bertha Jane Nisely Bertha Jane Ditch was born in Roseville, Illinois, May 25, 1866. She was the only child of Henry and Harriette Ditch. She was married at Roseville on November 13, 1884, to Jerome C. Nisely of that city. The following year in 1885 they moved to Edgar, Nebraska, and the next spring in 1886 they settled on a farm four miles northeast of Edgar. This farm has been the home of the Nisely family to the present date, a period of nearly fifty-four years. Ten children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Nisely. One child died in infancy and nine, five daughters and four sons remain with the father to mourn the passing of the mother. They are Nellie, Harry, Earnest and Murray Nisely, who make their home with their parents; Mrs. Ralph Sconce of Nelson, Nebraska; Mrs. W. M. Brewer of Hastings, Nebraska; Mrs. Sidney Hellman of Hastings, Nebraska; Mrs. Moss Evans of Boise, Idaho; and John F. Nisely of Sunnyside, Washington. There are also seven grandchildren , other relatives and a host of friends. Mrs. Nisely with her husband became a member of the Christian Church in Edgar in March,, 1887. She remained a faithful member to the time of her death. Mrs. Nisely was well known in the Edgar Community. She was respected as a good mother, a successful homemaker and neighbor She passed from this life January 28, 1940, at her home. She had lived 73 years, 8 months and 3 days. Funeral services were held at the Christian Church of Edgar Wednesday afternoon with the pastor, Mervin Brown, in charge. A quartet composed of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jacobsen, Lois Johnson and A. A. Recht sang with Mrs. L. E. Hunter at the piano. Pallbearers were: Wm. Organ, Wm. Black, Robt. Shuck, L. E. Hunter, Irvin King and Ervin Hockman. Interment was made in the Edgar Cemetery.
