Read More	The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE) Fri., Oct 1, 1943 - Page 1 Jerome Clinton Nisely Jerome Clinton Nisely, fourth child of George W. and Sarah Anne Nisely, was born near Roseville, Illinois, December 20, 1858. He passed away at his home near Edgar, September 25, 1943, at the age of 84 years, nine months and five days He grew to manhood near Roseville, Illinois, and was married November 13, 1884, to Bertha Ditch of Roseville. After one year, they moved to Edgar Nebraska, locating on the farm that was to be his home for 57 years. His wife preceded him in death January 28, 1940. Mr. Nisely is survived by his nine children: Nellie, Harry, Ernest, Murray and Mrs. Ralph Sconce of Edgar; Mrs. Wilbur Brewer of Central City, Nebraska; Mrs. Sidney Hellman of Hastings, Nebraska; Mrs. Moss Evans of Boise, Idaho; and John of North Platte, Nebraska also surviving are two brothers and one sister, Charles of Roseville, Illinois; Albert of Beatrice, Nebraska, and Mrs. Katharine Staat of Monmouth, Illinois. Four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, twenty-four nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Mr. Nisely was well and favorably known in the community in which he spent most of his life. He served on his local school board for over thirty years. He was baptized and became a member of the Edgar Christian Church in March, 1887, and always took great interest in the work of the Lord, until his health failed. He served on the board of the church for 35 years. He was known for his friendliness and kindliness and will be greatly missed in the community. Funeral services were held Monday, September 27, 1943, at 2:30 p.m., at the Edgar Christian Church in charge of C. M. Foust, minister of the Nelson Christian Church. Mrs. F. W. Hockman and Mrs. Walter Jacobsen accompanied by Mrs. Roy Cline at the piano sang, "Saved By Grace," "There Will Be No Tears in Paradise" and "Asleep in Jesus." Pallbearers were: A. A. Recht, Clarence Skinner, L. E. Hunter, Will Organ, Will Reid and Irvin King. Burial was in the Edgar Cemetery. Among those from out-of-town attending the funeral of J. C. Nisely Monday afternoon in Edgar were: Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Brewer and family of Central City; Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Hellman and family of Hastings; Mrs. Moss Evans of Boise, Idaho; John Nisely of North Platte; A. A. Nisely of Beatrice; Mr. and Mrs. John Thayer, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thayer, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Williams, Mrs. Oliver Hertel and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Williams of Nora and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Thayer of Superior.
