Description	:	Bertha M. (Ellis) Foster, 76, of Glen Rock, New Jersey, formerly of Lancaster, Ohio, died Thursday, December 9, 2004. "Bert" was born in 1926, her parents Eldon F. Ellis (1902-1967) and Jessie Margarette Robinson (1905-1972) lived in a sided log cabin in Pleasant Township, just outside of Lancaster, Ohio. For the first several years of her life, her home lacked electricity or indoor plumbing. Read More	Bertha M. (Ellis) Foster, 76, of Glen Rock, New Jersey, formerly of Lancaster, Ohio, died Thursday, December 9, 2004. "Bert" was born in 1926, her parents Eldon F. Ellis (1902-1967) and Jessie Margarette Robinson (1905-1972) lived in a sided log cabin in Pleasant Township, just outside of Lancaster, Ohio. For the first several years of her life, her home lacked electricity or indoor plumbing. She graduated from Lancaster High School in 1946 and School Colors were Purple and Gold and shortly thereafter moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked as a secretary in the office the comptroller of the Army in the Pentagon. She and her husband, Edwin, were married May 9, 1953, in the church of the Pilgrims in Washington, D.C. After her marriage and before having children, Bert worked for the Comptroller of the Army on Governor'a Island and for the Veterans Administration in New Yory City. The family moved to Glen Rock, New Jersey, in 1962. There she became deeply involved in Girl Scout activities and also took a leadership role in organization of the town's Twiggy League Softball association. She is survived by her husband, Edwin C. Foster; children, Anne Elizabeth Foster of Orange, Texas and Carol (Victoria (Mrs. David Moody) of Columbus, New Jersey, and Joan Leslie (Mrs. Emanuel Pinzoni of Hawthorne, New Jersey; three grandchildren,; and brother, Harry R. Ellis of Lancaster, Ohio. She was preceded in death by parents; and sister, Betty M. Ellis (1926-1932). Cremation has taken place.
