Bertha Nellie Miller, daughter of Albert and Rosa Sanburn Roberts, was born September 18, 1895 at Spencer, Iowa, and entered into rest on Wednesday, November 25, 1987, at the Good Samaritan Center in Villisca, Iowa at the age of 92. When she was young, the family moved to Kansas for a few years, but most of her life was spent in the Villisca area. On February 23, 1916, Bertha was united in marriage to Frank E. Miller. To this union three children were born. They farmed in the area and later Frank worked for the city police force. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Wesley, who was killed in North Africa during World War 2, one daughter Aneva Swallow, two brothers, Frank Roberts and Miles Roberts. Bertha is survived by two sisters, Blanche Roberts of Clarinda, Iowa and Bessie Haley of Red Oak; one daughter, Birdine Seeman of Williams, California, and a son-in-law, Robert Swallow of Williams, California; five grandchildren, Katherine Fenn and husband Tom of Bellevue, Washington, Cindy Nelllum and husband Mike of Red Bluff, California, Madeline Restaino and husband Mic, of Placerville, California, Robert Miller of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Gary Seeman and wife Pam, of Oroville, California; eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
