Winters Bertha Riant Winters, daughter of Henry A. and Mary Ann Piel Riant was born on October 3, 1884, at Hubbard, Iowa, and died April 9, 1982, at her home in Belleville, at the age of 97 years, six months, nine days. She attended early school in Hubbard, Iowa, and completed high school in Eldora, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Augustus P. Winters on December 25, 1905 and to this union ten children were born. Winters Bertha Riant Winters, daughter of Henry A. and Mary Ann Piel Riant was born on October 3, 1884, at Hubbard, Iowa, and died April 9, 1982, at her home in Belleville, at the age of 97 years, six months, nine days. She attended early school in Hubbard, Iowa, and completed high school in Eldora, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Augustus P. Winters on December 25, 1905 and to this union ten children were born. She spent her married life in the Chapman community until World War II, and moved to Belleville in 1973. She was preceded in death by her husband, Augustus P. Winters, one son, George and one daughter, Nina Ruth. She is survived by five sons: Henry of Fort Worth, Tex., John of Moses Lake, Wash., Robert of Brawley, Calif., Harry of Spring Hill, Fla., Horace of Boulder, Colo.; three daughters: Mrs. Paul (Elsie) Fahrbach of Belleville, Mrs. George (Myrtle) Graham of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Norm (Muriel) Schroeder of St. Louis, Mo.; 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were held April 12 at the Danner Funeral Home of Abilene, conducted by the Rev. John Decker.
