Interment will follow in Occupy No. 1 Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale. Mrs. Thompson, 76, of Pitkin entered eternal life Tuesday, July 19, 2005 in her residence. She was born on March 13, 1929 to the union of Ealy and Lucinda Maricle Thompson in Pitkin. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She also was a member of the Occupy No 1 Baptist Church, a retired custodian at Pitkin High School and a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Thompson, Sr., parents, Ealy and Lucinda Maricle Thompson; four sisters, Ellie Willis, Pearlie Willis, Willa Mae Odom and Verlie Mancil; three brothers, Ezra Thompson, James Thompson and Willard Thompson and one great-grandson, Corbin Ralph Thompson. She leaves behind to cherish her loving memories, four sons, Monroe Thompson, Jr. and wife Rayetta of Alexandria, Ralph Thompson and wife Paula of Oakdale, Ronald Thompson and wife Peggy of Pitkin, and Donald Thompson and wife Selena of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; two daughters, Nell Stanley and husband Bobby of Pitkin, and Bonnie Thompson of Pitkin; one brother, Barney Thompson and wife Audrey of Alexandria; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers honored to serve will be Mike Stanley, Jody Stanley, Ben Thompson, Gregg Thompson, Brian Thompson, Jake Thompson and Marvin Lee Calcote.
