He was born Jan. 27,1905, in Davis County near Floris to Freeman Peter and Mae Lawson Grinstead. A farmer, he lived in Wapello and Davis counties his entire lifetime. Read More	Obituary - Blakesburg Beryl Grinstead, 80, of Blakesburg Route 1 died at 1:05 a.m. March 4, 1985, at University Hospitals in Iowa City. He was born Jan. 27,1905, in Davis County near Floris to Freeman Peter and Mae Lawson Grinstead. A farmer, he lived in Wapello and Davis counties his entire lifetime. He was affiliated with the Christiansburg Methodist Church and IOOF lodge in Blakesburg. He was a past member of the school board for Wapello and Davis County rural schools. He was presently serving as chairman of the election committee for Polk Township in Wapello County. He married Eva Leonna Howard on Sept. 14, 1922, at Ottumwa. She died Sept, 18, 1972. He is survived by two sons, Dean and Duane of Blakesburg; three daughters, Jean Proctor of Ottumwa, Lois Johnson of Port Wing, Wis., and Yvonne Buster of Washington; 21 grand children, 23 great grand children; and three brothers, Glen, Dewey and Clarence of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren. The service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, The Rev. Norman Walter officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery at Bloomfield. The casket will be closed at the begining of the service. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Memorials may be made to the church.
