Description	:	Bessie Roach-Hyde Bessie Roach-Hyde, 84, of West Terre Haute, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013. She was born Jan. 28, 1929, in West Terre Haute, to John I. Akers and Bessie M. Walker Akers. She graduated from West Terre Haute Valley High School in 1947. She was a life member of West Terre Haute First Assembly of God Church. She retired in 1987 from Bemis Bag. She married her first husband, Jack Roach in 1948 and they had three children and were together for 32 years before his untimely passing.... Read More	Bessie Roach-Hyde Bessie Roach-Hyde, 84, of West Terre Haute, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013. She was born Jan. 28, 1929, in West Terre Haute, to John I. Akers and Bessie M. Walker Akers. She graduated from West Terre Haute Valley High School in 1947. She was a life member of West Terre Haute First Assembly of God Church. She retired in 1987 from Bemis Bag. She married her first husband, Jack Roach in 1948 and they had three children and were together for 32 years before his untimely passing. In 1999 she married Delbert Hyde, who had three children from a previous marriage. They were together for 13 years before his passing. She also was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; a daughter, Martha Lewis; and a stepson, Dennis Hyde. She is survived by her son, Wayne Roach and his wife Janet of Terre Haute; her daughter, Barbara Elmore and her husband Chris of Terre Haute, stepson, Ken Hyde and his wife Mary Lou of Indianapolis; stepdaughter, Brenda Dilley of Terre Haute; a sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and Pete Sellers; a sister-in-law, Betty Akers of Florida; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Bessie will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., in West Terre Haute, with the Reverends Randy Smith and Kenneth Coffman officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and prior to services Sunday. Private Burial will be in Bethesda Memorial Park. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice with envelopes available in the funeral home. Terre Haute Tribune Star December 20, 2013
