She had been in failing health the past year. She was born March 26, 1896 in Jefferson County, the daughter of Lee and Nettie Smith Mahon. On April 10, 1913, she was married to Roy Webber and he died December 20, 1920. August 9, 1922 she was married to Fred A. Fleming who passed away March 10, 1932. She was born March 26, 1896 in Jefferson County, the daughter of Lee and Nettie Smith Mahon. On April 10, 1913, she was married to Roy Webber and he died December 20, 1920. August 9, 1922 she was married to Fred A. Fleming who passed away March 10, 1932. They spent most of their lives in Van Buren County in the Stockport community. Mrs. Fleming was a member of the WSCS and American Legion Auxiliary. Surviving are three sons, Harold Webber, Stockport; Valvert Fleming, Fort Madison and Estol Fleming, Marion; two daughters, Lois Jones, Stockport and Bernice Alley, Mortrose, Colo.; five grand-children, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She also leaves two brothers, Harry Mahon, Birmingham, and Ralph Mahon of Keosauqua. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Stockport United Methodist Church with Rev David R. Kennedy in charge. Burial in Smith cemetery, three miles east of Birmingham. The body is at the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. A memorial has been established to the Cancer Fund. --------- Note: The headstone uses the name "Bessie Fleming" under the top engraved Webber surname. --------- Note: this contributor made a memorial for Fred A Fleming in 2009 in Spencer cemetery, but inadvertently misspelled the last name as "Feming". This was brought to my attention on Sept. 26, 2012; a more complete memorial for him was made later by another contributor (who then transferred management to another contributor) but using the correct "Fleming" surname. I've now deleted my earlier but misspelled memorial in deference to the newer one, and am linking Bessie to that memorial. I've also updated Bessie's DOB and DOD locations, and linked to her parents who are buried in Wright cemetery in Jefferson county, Iowa. rkt/9-26-2012
