Description	:	Bessie E. Hoyer, 100, of Loudonville died Tuesday morning, Nov. 30, 2010, in Colonial Manor Health Care Center after an extended illness. Bessie was born Sept. 11, 1910, in Green Township, Ashland County, the oldest child of Edward and Ada (Strang) Stitzlein. She was a 1928 graduate of Loudonville High School and a lifelong resident of the Loudonville area. She was a 1928 graduate of Loudonville High School and a lifelong resident of the Loudonville area. Bessie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Loudonville, Ashland County Women's Republican Club, Mohican Quilters, Progress Club and Mohican Historical Society. On Nov. 6, 1930, she married Marion M. Hoyer, who died April 10, 1937. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Byers of Loudonville; four grandchildren, Dr. Jeff (Marti) Byers of Loudonville, Jennifer (Jeff) Stenroos of Bath, Jill Byers of Mason and Jon (Lori) Byers of Loudonville; six great-grandchildren, Michael, Tara, Lauren, Amanda, Grant and Vanessa; two brothers, Clovis (Ruth) Stitzlein and Robert (Colleen) Stitzlein, all of Loudonville; and two sisters, Wava Armstrong of rural Perrysville and Norma Snyder of Loudonville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son-in-law, Dr. L. Eugene Byers, in 1997; two brothers, Walter and Carl Stitzlein; and two sisters, Dorothy Snyder and Thelma Portz. Funeral services will take place 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at Zion Lutheran Church, Loudonville, with the Rev. Scott Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Loudonville Cemetery. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville.
