Stitzlein, 97, of Loudonville, died surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday evening, February 21, 2018 in Colonial Manor Health Care Center, Loudonville after a two-week illness. He was born November 29, 1920 in Green Township on the farm where he had lived all his life, and was the son of the late Edward L. and Ada Pearl (Strang) Stitzlein. Stitzlein, 97, of Loudonville, died surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday evening, February 21, 2018 in Colonial Manor Health Care Center, Loudonville after a two-week illness. He was born November 29, 1920 in Green Township on the farm where he had lived all his life, and was the son of the late Edward L. and Ada Pearl (Strang) Stitzlein. Clovis was a 1938 graduate of Loudonville High School and a US Army veteran of World War II. He was a life-long farmer and for 39 years was a bus driver for the Loudonville-Perrysville Schools. Clovis served 24 years as a Green Township Trustee, was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Loudonville and a life member of Loudon Post 257 American Legion. On June 9, 1944 he married Ruth M. (Moherman) Stitzlein and she died June 2, 2016. He is survived by five sons and daughters -in-law, Gary and Diana Stitzlein of Waldo, Roger and Connie Stitzlein of Loudonville, Steven and Lynn Stitzlein of Grove City, Dwain and Roberta Stitzlein and Brian and Leslie Stitzlein all of Loudonville; two daughters and son-in-law: Janet Abee of Loudonville, and Nancy and Jim Mott of Columbus; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Wava Armstrong and Norma Snyder both of Loudonville, and two sisters-in-law: Colleen Stitzlein of Loudonville and Sandra Moherman of Ashland. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers: Walter, Carl and Robert Stitzlein; and three sisters: Bessie Hoyer, Thelma Portz and Dorothy Snyder. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 24, at 2:00 PM in Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Scott Henderson officiating. Burial with military honors by the American Legion and VFW will be in Loudonville Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 4-7 PM in LINDSEY FUNERAL HOME, LOUDONVILLE.
