Reeves, Superior, Neb. ============================= The Belleville Telescope (Belleville, KS), Thursday, October 3, 1974; pg. 22 BESSIE KRAUSE Bessie Irene Krause was born July 21,1897 in Republic County Kansas near Byron, Nebr., the daughter of Edward Reeves and Margaret Dry Reeves. She grew up in the Byron and Chester communities, attending Chester high school and Lincoln Business college. She was married to William Joseph Krause, June 12, 1919. He preceded her in death in 1958. For many years they farmed and later she assisted her husband in the operation of sales barns in Belleville and Washington. She also worked several years in the office of the County Superintendent of Schools, and in the Johnson Insurance Office, before retiring several years ago. She was a member of the Central Christian church, and for many years was pianist and organist, and choir director. She also was a member of the Ophal Chapter, No. 115, of Eastern Star, the Star Study club and HDU. Survivors include three sons Dr. Charles Krause, of Cladwell (sic), Idaho; William Verne Krause of Peabody, Gayle A. Krause of El Dorado, eight grandchildren a brother, Joseph Reeves of Seattle, Wash., a sister, Mildred Beckley of Warden, Wash. Mrs. Krause died September 27, 1974 after a long period of failing health, at the age of 77 years and two months. Funeral services were held September 30, 1974 from the Central Christian church (sic), Belleville, conducted by the minister, Maurice Graham. Interment was in Chester cemetery (sic), Chester, Nebr.
