Bessie May Fairbanks was born April 21, 1900, at Fulton, Kansas, where she spent her early life. She came to Montana in 1920 and was united in marriage to Willard N. Ruth, in Fort Benton, on May 31, 1921. They resided on a ranch in the Hawarden section until their retirement some time ago when the moved to Geraldine. Mrs. Ruth was held in highest esteem and her passing will be mourned by a large circle of friends. She was interested in community activities in both the Hawarden and Geraldine sections. She was a member of the Methodist church and the Old Settlers organization at Hawarden. She is survived by her husband, who is a patient at St. Clare hospital; by a brother, Frank Fairbanks of Geraldine; and a sister, Mrs. Marie Borchers of Kansas City, Kansas; two step-sons, Joel and Raymond Ruth of Spokane; and Mrs. Melba Irvin of Spencer, Iowa; and seven grandchildren.
