Description	:	Bessie May Hershey was the sixth child of Robert and Elizabeth Hershey, born Sept. 2, 1888, at Spring Valley, Turner County, S.D. She died Sunday morning at two o’clock on July 20, 1913, at Yankton, S.D. Bessie became converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church in June 1905. She lived a happy Christian life. Read More	Bessie May Hershey was the sixth child of Robert and Elizabeth Hershey, born Sept. 2, 1888, at Spring Valley, Turner County, S.D. She died Sunday morning at two o’clock on July 20, 1913, at Yankton, S.D. Bessie became converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church in June 1905. She lived a happy Christian life. Her favorite book was the Bible, which she constantly read. Nothing could swerve her from the path of duty as she saw it. Her greatest aim in life was to make others happy. She lived a life of great suffering and only intimate ones realized the pain she endured from her unusual affliction. She delighted in church and Sunday school work but was denied the privilege of attending on account of poor health. She suffered seizures from age 12 until her death. We can all say she is now at rest for she hath done what she could and the Master called her home to him for her work on earth was finished. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church at Hurley on Monday afternoon at 2:30, July 21, 1913. The services were conducted by the Rev. W.S. Rowden.
