Description	:	Betty Jean Cherry, 92, of Nacogdoches, passed away June 9, 2016, in Nacogdoches, Texas. Betty was born June 30, 1923, in Garfield, to Eugene Armstrong and Stella May Goatley Armstrong. She married Neal Miller April 11, 1948, in Kansas. He passed away in 1971. Betty married Wallace E. Cherry Nov. 26, 1977. He passed away in 2009. Betty was born June 30, 1923, in Garfield, to Eugene Armstrong and Stella May Goatley Armstrong. She married Neal Miller April 11, 1948, in Kansas. He passed away in 1971. Betty married Wallace E. Cherry Nov. 26, 1977. He passed away in 2009. Betty was a beautiful and well-dressed lady and was known for her meticulous housekeeping. She moved to Nacogdoches March of 2012, to be close to her son and her loving family. Betty was an avid University of Kansas basketball fan. Family was important to Betty enjoying the times when they were together especially the family reunions. She truly enjoyed the grandchildren, great grandchildren and her nieces and nephews. Betty is survived by son, Sanford “Sandy” Miller and wife Madalene; sister-in-law, Nell Armstrong; grandchildren, Justin Jon Miller and Dianne of Eagan, Minn., and Douglas Neal Miller and Allison of Kingwood, Texas; great-grandchildren, Karen Grace Miller, Julianne Hope Miller, Elizabeth Joy Miller, Theresa Faith Miller, Halie Elizabeth Miller, and Madison Jane Miller; along with many friends, family and nieces and nephews that love her and will miss her dearly. The family of Betty Jean Cherry would like to thank the staff of Willowbrook Rehabilitation Center, The Arbor, Nacogdoches Medical Center Hospital, Heart to Heart Hospice, and Dr. Lloyd Whitley and Dr. Cengiz Satir, all for the excellent care, love and support they provided her. Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, at Larned Cemetery, Larned, Kan. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2016, at Beckwith Funeral Home, Larned. The family is being served by Laird Funeral Home in Nacogdoches, Texas, and Beckwith Funeral Home in Larned. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to be made to United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Houston Inc., in care of Easter Seals of Great Houston, 4500 Bissonnet, Suite 340, Bellaire, TX 77401 or First Christian Church, 716 Broadway, Larned, KS 67550.
