Description	:	Betty Jean Garrett, 75, of Ottumwa, went to be with her Lord on May 16, 2012. She was born Dec. 18, 1936, in Ottumwa to Earl E. and Daisy May Riley Jacks. Betty married James F. Garrett July 16, 1955. Betty was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, as well as the Northside Church of the Nazarene, where she served as superintendant, and Trinity Church of the Nazarene. Betty is survived by two sons, Jim(Sharon)and David(Michelle), both of Ottumwa; one daughter, Cindy(Greg)O'Brien of Ottumwa and son-in-law Tim Farley; one brother, Jim Jacks(Dolores)of Ottumwa; one sister, Shirley Harque of Yucapia, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, Corey Garrett, Christy(Matt)Leonard, Nick(Nikki)Glancy, Sheena(Dustin)Clark, Erik(Sarah)O'Brien, Aaron(Kortny)O'Brien, Ryan(Steph)Garrett, Ashley Garrett, P.J.(Christina)Farley and Zenaya Farley; five great-grandchildren, Laney O'Brien, Khloe O' Brien, Logan Glancy, Hunter Leonard and Garrett Leonard. Betty was preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa Farley; five brothers, Roger Jacks, Earl Jacks Jr., Wayne Jacks, Warren Gaffield and Richard Gaffied; and three sisters, Marrita McCoy, Ila Mason and Alleen Gilchrist. Funeral services will be 11 am Monday at the Trinity Church of the Nazarene; with Rev. Mark Elgsti and Rev. Grover Branson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3 pm Sunday at the Shrine of Memories Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 pm. Betty's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Shrine of Memories is in charge of arrangements.
