She passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 16 days. She was one of three children in the family. Read More	CLARK, BETTY JEAN—Betty Jean Clark was born to Clarence Stretton and Marguerite Limback on July 6, 1922, at Geneva. She passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 16 days. She was one of three children in the family. Betty began work in the food service industry as a cook in Merle’s Café in Geneva in 1961. She later worked at Holroyd’s Bakery, the lamplighter Café, Eat-N-Tote, and the Hidden Hills Country Club as a cook. She later operated her own business with the Dairy Sweet and Betty’s Drive Inn. She also catered dinners of the VFW and Lion’s Club. She last worked for over 18 years at the Geneva Senior Center as a receptionist. She attended Geneva Public Schools and graduated from Geneva high School in 1940. She then attended Lincoln School of Commerce for one year. She was married to Truman K. Clark of Geneva on March 22, 1941, and to them eight children were born. She resided in Geneva until 1948, when she and Truman moved to Wayne while Truman attended Wayne State College. They later moved to Belden in 1950 and later to Hoskins, Sutton and Wynot as Truman taught in each of these communities. During Truman’s tenure in education, Betty was a strong supporter of his teams and his life as a superintendent. In 1960, they returned to Geneva and Truman worked in the construction business. She has resided here since that time. Betty’s life revolved around caring for her family. In her leisure hours, she enjoyed reading. She was a fervent Cornhusker fan since the eighth grade, and remained a devoted follower of the football team throughout her life. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren when time allowed and was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ. Her organizational activities included the Geneva Senior Center, OK Kensington (which her grandmother, Mrs. J.T. Limback founded), and the VFW Auxiliary. Betty enjoyed traveling and going to garage sales and auctions. There was always something special to be found and added to her collections. She often spent the whole day in Lincoln shopping with Evelyn Carlson and Judy Ousey. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Marguerite Lynn; husband, Truman, son, Truman Jr.; half-brother, Bert Lynn Jr.; brother-in-law, Clair Christiancy Jr., and biological father, Clarence Stretton. She is survived by children Sandra Freeberg and husband David; Jon Clark and wife Linda, Richard (Rick) Clark and wife, Bonnie, Jeri Mommens and husband Bill, Margaret Clark, Trudy Clark and Susan Nelson and husband Bill; half-sister, Marilyn Christiancy and 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 25 from the Congregational United Church of Christ in Geneva with Rev. Lynn Strandt officiating. Nancy Cradduck accompanied the congregation who sang “Amazing Grace.” Other played selections were “Wind Beneath My Wings” and “There Is No Place like Nebraska”. Casket bearers were Jason Mommens, Matt Mommens, Dathan Nelson, Aaron Clark, Caleb Clark and Kelsey Mumaugh. Honorary bearers were Mary Ann Hartman, Megan McMasters, Shanyn Doan, Jill Evans, Sara Mommens and Dena Nelson. Interment Was in the Geneva Public Cemetery.
