Description	:	Mrs. Alfred Miller, 95, Akron, died Monday (Dec. 8, 1980) in the Akron nursing home of brief illness. Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Immanuel Lutheran church in Akron. The Rev. Julian Swanson officiated. Burial was in the Riverside cemetery under directions of the Schroeder funeral home of Akron. A prayer service was held Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Casket Bearers were Curtis Hansen, LaRue Hansen, Terry Kjose, Gary Parker, Gordon Parker and Staci Hansen. Mrs. Miller, the former Betty Johnson, was born July 30, 1885 in Ousby, Sweden to Sven and Hanna Johnson. She came to the United States and to Kiron, Iowa at the age of 22. She married Alfred Miller, April 8, 1909 at Denison. They farmed near Kiron for two years moving to a farm they purchased in Union County, S.D. in 1911. They, lived on the same farm until 1943, when they retired and moved to Akron. Mr. Miller died in 1951. [NOTE: Death was in 1952] She was confirmed and baptized into the Lutheran faith in Sweden and became a member of Immanuel Lutheran church when moving to the Akron area. She was an active member of the Immanuel Ladies Aid, and participated until her health failed. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Melvin (Alice) Hansen and Mrs. Irene Parker, both of Akron; one son, Morris of St. Cloud Minn.; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother Gunnar Johnson of Sweden and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Lesley, and a daughter, Mrs. Edward Sand.
