Overholser, a resident of Fort Benton for the past 35 years, passed away suddenly at her home in this city at about 5:30 Sunday evening. Death was due to a heart attack. In July 1952 she suffered a severe heart attack and was a patient at St. Clare hospital for six weeks or more. Due to her willingness and the necessity of adjusting to her condition she had been very fortunate in not having frequent attacks, until the one Sunday evening, which came without warning. Beulah B. Fuller was born in Kellerton, Iowa, on Feb. 16, 1886, where she spent her early life. She was united in marriage to Joel R. Overholser in that town on July 20, 1910. For the first 18 months they resided in Des Moines, Iowa, and then moved in Dec. 1911 to Diagonal, Iowa. In 1913 the family moved to Montana, arriving in Fort Benton on March 1st, and lived on a homestead in the Egley section. The family moved to Fort Benton in May 1916 and continued here until March 1, 1917, when they purchased a paper at Moore, Mont., which was conducted for three years. They returned to Fort Benton where Mr. Overholser began work for the River Press March 1, 1920, and have continued to make this their home since. Mrs. Overholser has been a member of the Fort Benton's Woman's club since the fall of 1920, and as time permitted she took part in other community activities. Beulah was a wonderful wife and mother, her home always being her first line of endeavor. She is survived by her husband, Joel R. Overholser; Joel F., of Fort Benton, Raymond, of Lowell, Ore., Leland, living in the Egley section, and J. Eldon, of Denver, Colo; seven grandchildren and other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held from Benton Funeral Home chapel, and will be conducted by Rev. W. Lloyd Hanley, pastor of the Christian church. Burial will be in the family plot in Riverside cemetery.
