She departed this life on Saturday March 12, 2011 in Littleton, CO at the age of 98 years. Beulah will be remembered by all the people whose lives she touched. Read More	Beulah McCartney the daughter of James O. and Mable R. (Kinnison) Skinner was born June 20, 1912 in Nuckolls County, Nebraska. She departed this life on Saturday March 12, 2011 in Littleton, CO at the age of 98 years. Beulah will be remembered by all the people whose lives she touched. She was a teacher, Sunday School Superintendent and active Extension Club – baking many beautiful wedding cakes, Eastern Star and P.E.O. But her true legacy will always be helping to start the Bargen Ben in Edgar. She loved that place and worked very hard to get it going and she has many friends that continue to make it a success. In her spare time Beulah wrote thousands of poems, she wrote about everyday happenings, usually with a hint of humor. But if she was upset or angry about some injustice, she could really zing one out, too. Her granddaughter, Kathy Laucomer published a book of her poetry. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Merton, sister Ruby Melvin, daughter-in-law Mary McCartney, granddaughters Susan McLennan and Amy McCartney and a great great grandchild. She is survived by her children: Connie McCartney of Grand Island, NE; Phyllis Baker and John Freeburg of Littleton, CO; Kent and Willa McCartney of Edgar, NE; Alvin and Nola McCartney of Odell, NE; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held this Saturday 11:00, March 19, 2011 at the Church of the Plains in Edgar, NE. Pastor Stephen Price Gibson will be officiating. Burial will be held in the Edgar Cemetery.
