Description	:	Mable Ruth Skinner was the daughter of William and Hannah Kinnison. Married James Otha Skinner Feb 21 1912. Mabel Ruth Skinner, the seventh child of Hannah (Kincannon) and Henry Kinnison, was born on a farm near Angus, Nebraska, November 22, 1892. She departed this life at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings January 12, 1979, at the age of 86 years, 1 month and 21 days. She attended school and grew to womanhood in Nuckolls County, Nebraska. Mabel became a member of the Angus United Brethren Church at the age of 16 and continued faithful attendance of the Angus... Mabel Ruth Skinner, the seventh child of Hannah (Kincannon) and Henry Kinnison, was born on a farm near Angus, Nebraska, November 22, 1892. She departed this life at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings January 12, 1979, at the age of 86 years, 1 month and 21 days. She attended school and grew to womanhood in Nuckolls County, Nebraska. Mabel became a member of the Angus United Brethren Church at the age of 16 and continued faithful attendance of the Angus Church until its closing in 1968, at this time transferring her membership to the First Methodist Church in Davenport. February 21, 1912, she was united in marriage to James Otha Skinner at Fairbury. To this union were born two daughters. She lived most of her married life on a farm in Nuckolls County, Nebraska, with the exception of five years spent in Colorado. In 1967 they sold their farm and moved to Davenport, where they lived until 1973. Because of failing health they moved to Bethesda Care Center at Edgar. Preceding her in death were her husband, Otha, on April 13, 1974, her parents, seven brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Beulah and Merton McCartney of Edgar and Ruby and Archie Melvin of Davenport; six grandchildren, Connie McCartney, Phyllis Baker, Kent McCartney, Alvin McCartney, Morris Skinner and Bonita Whiteley; twenty great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; one brother, Raymond Kinnison of Grand Island; one sister, Gertrude Skinner of Nelson and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. January 17, 1979, at the Urbauer Funeral Home in Edgar. Rev. C.J. Willis, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Davenport, officiated. Mrs. Keith Gunn was the organist with Mrs. Merlin Greer and Mrs. Maurice Hand singing "Have Thine Own Way Lord" and "How Great Thou Art". Casketbearers were Connie McCartney, Kent McCartney, Alvin McCartney, Verel Whiteley, Brian Whiteley and Steve Troudt. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, January 18, 1979; pg. 5 -------------------------
