Description	:	Lifelong Sunnyside resident Beverly Ice passed away January 17, 2014, after a brave battle with cancer. Beverly was, as always, surrounded by her loving family. Born to Harold and Beata Fike on January 22, 1930, Beverly Jean joined her brother Bill in the family home on Decatur Ave. Younger sisters Patsy and Janet completed the family. Born to Harold and Beata Fike on January 22, 1930, Beverly Jean joined her brother Bill in the family home on Decatur Ave. Younger sisters Patsy and Janet completed the family. All were friends as well as siblings throughout their lives. Many of Beverly's lovely friendships were formed in her years in Sunnyside schools. Just last September the class of 1948 gathered at Bev's home for a reunion…with much laughter and storytelling. In September 1947, Beverly married Don Smith and became a member of an ever growing and always fun Smith family. Bev's six children and their spouses, Donna and Chris Powers, Lynn and Bob Bartley, Joan and Gary Sowers, Greg and Dina Smith, Sandy and Bud Cueto, and Kent and Sue Smith, are so grateful for these last months of time. Every day was one of love, laughter and caring. Aside from raising a family, Bev spent many years working for United Telephone where she also made many lasting friendships. Beverly married Wayne Ice of Prosser in February 1987. Wayne's family and friends became Bev's family and friends…and the two of them set off to make life an adventure. They loved to travel, including Mariners spring training, "mystery tours", cruising, and seeing the country with friends and family. Bev could always be found watching kids, grandkids or great grandkids playing sports. Some of her best times were "girl" trips with daughters and granddaughters. Bev was a member of the United Methodist Church and loved working with her dear friends in the Pricilla Circle. Bev also served for many years as President of the Pioneer Picnic. Beverly's much loved husband Wayne, her parents, brother and sisters preceded her in passing. Beverly leaves her love behind to be shared by her children, 12 grandchildren Mark, Kelly, Melissa, Kristy, Amie, Brittny , Miranda, Tyson, Chase, Cassie, Bailey and Conner…14 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. To all who knew her…she says "Goodbye and God Bless…" Viewing and visitation will be at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA. Funeral Service will be held at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA. Burial will follow at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside.
