Born April 7, 1928 in Farmington, Iowa the son of Frank and Helen (Corns) Cocherell. Bill married the love of his life, Cleta Grace Nelson, on July 2, 1947 in Farmington, Iowa. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2012. Born April 7, 1928 in Farmington, Iowa the son of Frank and Helen (Corns) Cocherell. Bill married the love of his life, Cleta Grace Nelson, on July 2, 1947 in Farmington, Iowa. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2012. Survivors include one daughter Cathy Cocherell of Farmington, Iowa, one son Danny (Lena) Cocherell of Farmington, Iowa, one brother Jack Cocherell of California, two sisters-in-law, Mayme Cocherell of California and Neva Cocherell of California. He was preceded in death by his wife Cleta, parents and four brothers. Bill attended Farmington Public School. As a man Bill worked at the Farmington roller rink and the bowling alley. He also worked at Schmidt’s Service Station for fourty four years before opening his own business, Bill’s Tire Repair, which he operated until his retirement at age eighty. In his spare time, he volunteered for various projects at Indian Lake. He was a past Farmington Fireman and a member of the Farmington Gun Club. Bill enjoyed car rides along the river, looking for deer and watching trains. Cremation has been entrusted to Schmitz Funeral Homes. Per his wishes there will be no services. A private family burial will be held at the Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington at a later date. A memorial has been established in his memory to the Farmington EMS. Memorials may be mailed to the family at: Schmitz Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 56, Donnellson, Iowa 52625.
