Description	:	Frank Cocherell, son of Alpheus and Louisa Ann Cocherell was born in Keosauqua, Iowa, May 13, 1891 and passed away at his home in Farmington on Aug. 22, 1952. For 35 years he... Read More	Frank Cocherell, son of Alpheus and Louisa Ann Cocherell was born in Keosauqua, Iowa, May 13, 1891 and passed away at his home in Farmington on Aug. 22, 1952. On Jan. 11, 1917 he was married to Helen Corns. To this union six sons were born. In 1918 he went into the blacksmith business in Farmington and for many years served the community well. During the second world war he held a responsible position at the Burlington Ordnance Plant and later with the Sheaffer Pen Company until his health made it impossible for him to continue. For 35 years he was chief of the Farmington fire department, serving the town willingly and efficiently when fire threatened the community. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, one brother, Charles Cocherell, three sisters, Mrs. Mary Umphrey, Mrs. Arthur Umphrey and Mrs. Clara Parker, and one grandson, Robert Michael, son of Robert and June Cocherell. He leaves to mourn him, his six sons, Dr. Francis Cocherell of Los Angeles, Robert Cocherell of Burlington, Thomas G. Cocherell of Ft. Madison, Richard, William and Jack Cocherell of Farmington, one sister, Mrs. James Beck of Farmington, eight grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many friends. Frank was a good husband and father, a good friend and neighbor. He was never too busy nor too ill for cheery word and was always ready to do a favor for anyone who needed it. He liked people and they liked him. During his extended illness he was cheerful, full of courage and never lost his life. His family and friends will miss him very deeply for he always made life more pleasant for those with whom he passed the time of day. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Farmington Nazarene church with the pastor, the Rev. Robert Swanson officiating, assisted by the Rev. Fay Marriott of the Methodist church.
