Description	:	Blanche H. Wolf, age 92, of Estelline, formerly of Hazel, SD, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the Estelline Nursing and Care Center. Blanche Helen Wolf, the daughter of Harold and Helen (Rund) Adams was born on February 26, 1916 at Hazel, South Dakota. She attended the Brantford Township #2 in Hamlin County for eight years and then graduated from Hazel High School. Wolf, age 92, of Estelline, formerly of Hazel, SD, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the Estelline Nursing and Care Center. Blanche Helen Wolf, the daughter of Harold and Helen (Rund) Adams was born on February 26, 1916 at Hazel, South Dakota. She attended the Brantford Township #2 in Hamlin County for eight years and then graduated from Hazel High School. Blanche attended Eastern State Normal School (later named General Beadle and then Dakota State) in Madison, SD where she obtained her teaching certificate. From 1936-1939 she taught at the Dixon #1 rural school in Hamlin County. On September 18, 1939 she married Loren Wolf in Buffalo, Wyoming. The couple lived on the farm Loren Wolf's grandparents homesteaded in 1882. Blanche and Loren were members of the Hazel Methodist Church and were the Hazel Church representative on the Church float for the Centennial Parade. Loren and Blanche received a state Centennial Farm award at the State Fair in Huron. Blanche always cultivated a large garden and canned the produce. She was an avid genealogy buff, and kept numerous notebooks of information she collected. She wrote an article "Memories of Growing up on the Farm" for the HAZEL MEMORIES publication for Hazel's Centennial Celebration in 1988. Blanche wrote and published several short stories including "Our Thanksgiving Celebration" for the Coteau Shopper in 2002. The couple moved to Watertown in 1988. Loren Wolf passed away on July 26, 2002. Blanche had been a resident of an Estelline Nursing and Care Center for the past five years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Bill and Ky. She is survived by three daughters, June Briggs and her husband, Dinus of Las Cruces, NM, Donna Knight of LaGrange, IN, and Mavis Brink and her husband, Steve of Underwood, IA; three half sisters, Hally (Nels) Jensen of Lincoln, NE, Carolyn Smith of Hardin, MT, and Margaret Ingram of Bonney Lake, WA; one half brother, Harold Quincy Adams, Jr. of Henderson, NV; six grandchildren, Denise Lucht, Debbie Renaas, Brenda Kraft, Jason Knight, Jeremiah Brink, and Maria Brink; and five great grandchildren, Allyson Lucht, and Alex, Brianna, Casey and Dillon Renaas. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Wight, Comes & Sogn Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Interment will be in the Hazel Cemetery, Rural Hazel, SD. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim and Marie Adams, Larry and Joyce Skelton, Milo and Ann Clifford, and Ken and Jo Struckman. Active Pallbearers will be Dinus Briggs, Steve Brink, Doyle Renaas, Tony Kraft, Jeremiah Brink and Jason Knight.
