Mason Ashton was born near Dorchester, Neb., April 22, 1880, to Isabelle and Jess Mason. They later moved to near Exeter. Mrs. Ashton passed Tuesday, June 11, 1974, at the Fillmore County hospital at Geneva at the age of 94 years, 1 month and 19 days. She was married November 2, 1899, to Charles H. Ashton. They lived near Exeter for several years until they moved to Geneva. To this union were born Annabel and Bernice. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Bernice; and a great-grandson, Garry Mason; her father and mother; four brothers; and three sisters. Mrs. Ashton was a member of the United Methodist church. She leaves to mourn her passing one daughter, Mrs. Annabel Mason of Geneva; one grandson, Charles Mason and his wife Verla; and two-great grandsons, Steven and Bruce, all of Omaha; besides several nieces and nephews. Blanche was a faithful wife and a loving mother and also a good neighbor. She was a charter member of the Jolly neighbors and always willing to help someone. Interment was in Geneva cemetery.
