Father O'Connor delivered a very eloquent and forceful sermon. The deceased had lived a score of years beyond her allotted time and had always enjoyed good health. Read More	Grandmother Jan 19, 1899 - Carroll Sentinel - The funeral of Mrs. Bridget Wolfe was held at St. Joseph's church yesterday forenoon. Very Rev. Father O'Connor delivered a very eloquent and forceful sermon. The deceased had lived a score of years beyond her allotted time and had always enjoyed good health. She was born in Ireland in 1809 and located in this county twenty-four years ago. During this time she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Jos. Collison. Of a strong, rugged constitution she bore her weight of years remarkably and was only confined to her bed about twelve hours before her death. During the hot days she complained of suffering from dropsy but was able to be around. The day before her death a doctor called and stated that she was aflicted with dropsy and her death at any time need be no surprise. Monday morning she was able to take some nourishment but for the first time refused to get up. About 10 o'clock that day she begun failing rapidly and at 1 o'clock breathed her last. Grandma Wolfe, as she was called by all her friends, lived a quiet christian life and was loved by all who knew her. Though her span of life extended over nearly the entire century she retained full possession of all her faculties until within a few hours of her death. She was a devout ohristian woman and of late years especially, she lived near the cross. "That life is long which answers life's great end" and in the fullness of time she passed away as quietly as a child lies down to peaceful dreams. The deceased leaves five children and a number of grandchildren to mourn her death. The oldest of the family is Daniel Wolfe, who for many years made his home in this county but now resides at Menlo, Ia. The second is Mrs. Katharine Kennedy, of Ottawa, Illinois, Miss Julia Wolfe and Mrs. Annie Collison. The funeral was largely attended, for all who knew Grandma Wolfe honored and respected her. Tho pallbearers were Messrs. Richard Booth, Jos. Murphy, Frank Staak, Frank Collison, C.F. Hamilton, and Wm. Cooney.
