Description	:	Bryant D. Loomis, son of Alva and Amy Loomis was born May 11, 1875, in Peoria, Ill. He passed away at his home in Fairmont August 1, 1955, at the age of 80 years, 2 months and 21 days. Loomis, son of Alva and Amy Loomis was born May 11, 1875, in Peoria, Ill. He passed away at his home in Fairmont August 1, 1955, at the age of 80 years, 2 months and 21 days. Death came unexpectedly after he returned home from his usual work. When a small boy, he moved with his parents to Sheboygan, Wis., where they operated a dairy farm. Later the family moved to Fairmont, Neb., continuing the dairy farming business. In 1898, he answered his country's call and served in the Spanish-American war, receiving an honorable discharge and medal for patriotism, fortitude and loyalty. December 29, 1904, he was united in marriage to Miss Katie Kahler of Fairmont. To this union three daughters were born, Mrs. Glenn Maulsby, Mrs. Marian Burns and Mrs. Lindell Churchill, all of Fairmont. Bryant served on the city council at one time, always mindful of the advancement of his community's welfare. He was a loving husband and father, giving of his time to his home, church and community. In his spare time he loved to work with his flowers and lawn. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren who loved to hear him reminisce about his experiences in the war or tell them a bedtime story. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, three daughters, nine grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Maybelle Fox and Mrs. Cornelia Beauchamp of San Antonio, Tex., and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Thursday, August 4, at Grace Methodist church with Dr. Charles B. Hankins and Rev. Norman Smitheram of Hebron officiating. Oliver Moul, accompanied by DeVonne Condon at the organ, sang "In the Garden" and "The Land Where We Never Grow Old." Interment was in the Fairmont cemetery with the American Legion in charge. Pallbearers were Harold Hurst, Floyd Hurst, Don Beavers, Harry Bergstrand, M.T.
