Burneile was born on June 7, 1925, in Bristow, Iowa, the daughter of George and Zoa (Grace) Miller. Burneile was baptized in 1925, at the Presbyterian Church in Greene, Iowa. She attended school in Greene, graduating from the Greene High School in 1943, and then attended Iowa Normal School in Cedar Falls (now U.N.I.) for 2 years, where she received her teaching certificate. Burneile taught rural schools in Butler and Franklin Counties for 4 years. On June 27, 1946, Burneile was united in marriage to Duane Wylam in Greene, Iowa. The couple made their home in Waverly, and in December of 1947, the couple moved north of Waverly on Bremer Road, where they lived for 60 years. Burneile worked for Panter Glass Factory in Waverly and then as an auditor for the Red Fox Inn for 15 years. In November of 2007, the couple moved to the Cedar Falls Western Home.Burneile was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Waverly and was also a member of the Garden Club and Amvets Auxiliary. Burneile enjoyed her time volunteering at the Waverly Health Center, attending her grandchildren's athletic and music events and was an avid gardner. Burneile is survived by her husband, Duane Wylam of the Cedar Falls Western Home; her six children and their spouses, Lynda and Ray Smith of Cedar Rapids, Iowa Steven Wylam of Shell Rock, Dennis and Sharon Wylam of Salem, Missouri, David and Cathy Wylam of Waverly, Joyce and Larry Kurtz of Waverly and Barbara and Wes Gielau of Denver, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and one brother and his wife, Galen and Loretta Miller of Bristow, Iowa. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive Burneile. Her parents, and her brother Duane Miller and his wife, Marion, preceded her in death. Celebration of Life Services will be held on Monday, February 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Waverly, with Pastor Tony Nestor officiating.
