The son of alexander and Addie (Meyers) Breckenridge, he was born Nov. 2, 1914, in Clemons. He married Adine F. Nolin on June 20, 1936, in Knoxville. Mr. Breckenridge worked for Fisher Controls in Marshalltown as a machinist and also had been a truck driver for years. He was a longtime resident of Newton and a member of the First Christian Church. Survivors include six sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Peggy of Gilman, Burton Jr. and Linda and Brad and Brenda, all of Newton, Gary and Sherry of Sacremento, Calif., Ron and Karla of Pella, and Doug and Debbie of Dallas, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Dixie and Charles Dribble of Independence, Mo.; 23 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law Floyd and Maisy of St. Louis, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, seven brothers and a sister.
