Paul C. Ellis. The music was by Mrs. Frances Wheeler and in charge of the flowers were Marjorie Graham, Agnes Butler, and Anna Freeman. Pall bearers were Walter Barringer, John Darold, Lee Gage, Ray Garey, Willard Forsythe, Jr., and H. J. Carmichael, and burial was in the Villisca Cemetery. Byron Patterson, son of William Reid Patterson and Carrie Bell Diamond, was born May 17, 1888, near Grant Iowa and died Monday, May 13, 1957, about 10:30 at his home here from a coronary thrombosis. He spent most of his life in Montgomery County. On September 25, 1915, he was married to Ruby McAlpin of Bloomfield, Iowa. They have lived near Nodaway and in Villisca since their marriage, and to them were born two sons Francis and Duane. He is survived by his wife of Villisca and two sons, M/Sgt. Francis Patterson, Ft. Bevens, Massachusetts, and Duane Patterson of the home in Villisca. Besides his wife and two sons, Mr. Patterson leaves a brother Frank of Omaha and a sister, Ada Howard of Kansas City, a daughter-in-law Sheila of Fort Devens, a step-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
