Orval Roach officiating and burial in the Villisca Cemetery. Mr. Patterson died Tuesday, March 18, 1969, at the Murphy Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa after a year's illness. He was taken to the hospital in the Fire Department Rescue Unit Monday, March 13, at 6:22 P.M. He had been a Red Oak resident for the past 30 years and before that time had lived 14 1/2 years in Omaha. Except for the Omaha residency he had lived most of his life in Montgomery County, Iowa including Villisca, Iowa. The son of Mr. and Mrs. William Patterson, he was born in Montgomery County, November 10, 1891 and was married in March 9, 1914 to Hattie B. King, who survives. They had observed their 50th anniversary March 9. Also surviving are two sons, William Harold Patterson of Dallas, Texas, and Jay Patterson of Omaha, Nebraska. Six daughters, Mrs. Grace Finkle of Garden Grove, California, Mrs. Ruby Cromley of Omaha, Nebraska, Mrs. Arlene Jones of Red Oak, Iowa, Mrs. Dorothy Mannhalter of Gretna, Nebraska, Mrs. Joyce Childers of Omaha, Nebraska, and Mrs. Fay Sheard of Warton, Texas; one sister Ada Howard of Kansas City, Kansas.
