Description	:	HADSELL, C. FAYE FAYE--C. Faye Davis was born on March 2, 1900, the third child of John P. and Bertha (Alexander) Davis, at the farm home near Milligan. She died at Fairview Manor in Fairmont, on Feb. 25, 1995, just five days short of her 96th birthday. In 1908, the family moved to a farm south of Geneva and she attended Geneva Public Schools, graduating as valedictorian in 1918. In 1908, the family moved to a farm south of Geneva and she attended Geneva Public Schools, graduating as valedictorian in 1918. She taught at several locations, including second grade in the Geneva Public Schools. On June 17, 1926, Faye married Paul W. Curtiss of Geneva. To this union were born three children. Paul died on March 19, 1951. Her mother, having died later the same year, Faye made a home for her father until his death in 1960. On Aug. 3, 1960, Faye married longtime family friend, Hugh B. Hadsell in Geneva, where they lived until his death on Sept. 30, 1980. For many years, until her death, Faye was an active member of various community organizations, including the Geneva United Methodist church, Chapter O, P.E.O., Geneva High School Alumni Association, Eastern Star and others. Her live revolved around her faith and the arts. Her interests included music, poetry and literature. She took great pleasure in the reading of various poets and enjoyed writing poetry herself. For her, music gave vent to emotions no words could ever stir. The term “Lady” best fit and described Faye throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Paul Curtiss and Hugh Hadsell; her three siblings, sister, Ruth and brothers, Jay and Howard. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, J. Arthur and Helen Curtiss and Charles P. and Joann Curtiss; daughter, Carolyn R. Chester; stepsons and daughters, Neal and Shirley Hadsell, and Richard and Maxine Hadsell; 16 grandchildren and step-grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 1, with the Rev. Charles Leypoldt officiating. Organist for the services was Susan Kleinschmidt with piano renditions of “I Walked Today, Where Jesus Walked” and “Stabat Matar”, played by Carolyn Chester. Casket bearers were John, Jim, Alan, David, Steve and Tom Curtiss, Joe Sajevic and Bob Wilson Jr. Interment was in the Geneva Public Cemetery.
