Description	:	Nadine Smith, one of five children, was born to Emil and Stella Webb Klawitter on July 6, 1926, at Nelson, Nebraska. She passed away March 5, 1980, at the Aurora Memorial Hospital in Aurora, at the age of 53 years, 7 months and 28 days. She attended Nelson Public School and was a graduate from Nelson High School. March 10, 1946, Nadine was united in marriage to Gene Smith at Belleville, Kansas. This marriage was blessed with one daughter. She passed away March 5, 1980, at the Aurora Memorial Hospital in Aurora, at the age of 53 years, 7 months and 28 days. She attended Nelson Public School and was a graduate from Nelson High School. March 10, 1946, Nadine was united in marriage to Gene Smith at Belleville, Kansas. This marriage was blessed with one daughter. Nadine was the owner and operator of Smith's Cafe in Nelson for a number of years. Her jolly personality and pleasant smile will be greatly missed by all of her customers. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Nelson, Eastern Star and V.F.W. Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her father, Emil T. Klawitter. Survivors include her husband, Gene of Nelson; her mother, Mrs. Stella Klawitter; daughter, LeaAnn, and her husband, Mike Holsteen of Beaverton, Oregon; grandchildren, Christa and Kelly Holsteen; four sisters, Phyllis Howard of Redmond, Washington, Elaine Oltmans of Nelson, Shirley Timm of Hastings and Billy Morehead of Denver, Colorado; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. March 8, from the United Presbyterian Church in Nelson, with Rev. Michael Orsted officiating. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery. Klawitter Funeral Home of Nelson was in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers were Jake Chapman, Mike Goslin, Jack Wehrman, Von Wehrman, Ora Farver and Paul Schutte.
