(Webb) Klawitter, was born March 4, 1925, and passed away Saturday, December 23, 1995, at the Puget Sound Healthcare Center as the result of cancer. She graduated from Nelson High School in 1943. September 4, 1943, at Mankato, Kansas, Phyllis was united in marriage to Alvin D. Howard. In 1965, Phyllis became manager of the printing department, regional office, Safeway Stores, in Bellevue, Washington. She served as manager for 20 years. She was a member of Olive Chapter #63, Order of the Eastern Star, Superior, Nebraska, for 36 years and Mother Advisor, International Order of Rainbow Girls, Florence Assembly #17, Florence, Co. Phyllis enjoyed porcelain doll-making, golfing and dancing. Preceding her in death was a sister, Nadine Smith. Survivors include her husband, Alvin D. Howard of Hoodsport, Washington; two daughters, Barbara J. Forner of Tigard, Oregon, and Sally J. Dale of Shoreline, Washington; three sisters, Elaine Oltmans of Nelson, Nebraska, Shirley Timm of Juniata, Nebraska, and Willa Morehead of Denver, Colorado; three grandchildren, Julie Forner, Emily Christianson and Lindsay Christianson; and 23 nieces and nephews.
