Description	:	Caleb was the son of James Huckins and wife Abigial Smith of New Hampton NH. He was two years old when his father died. Caleb became a blacksmith and remained in that profession during his lifetime. He resided in the Holderness section of Ashland NH and was a brother to Ruth (Huckins) Dow, wife of Perrin P. Dow and of Benjamin Smith and Martin Luther Huckins of Holderness and of Betsey Huckins and John P. Huckins who left New Hampshire. Caleb married Lucretia T. Caleb became a blacksmith and remained in that profession during his lifetime. He resided in the Holderness section of Ashland NH and was a brother to Ruth (Huckins) Dow, wife of Perrin P. Dow and of Benjamin Smith and Martin Luther Huckins of Holderness and of Betsey Huckins and John P. Huckins who left New Hampshire. Caleb married Lucretia T. Ward and had children: Mary Josephine born Dec 5 1845 and Delos born June 30 1856. He and Lucretia also had an adopted son Ned G. Huckins born July 27 1874. He died at age 85 yrs 7 mos and 10 days of asthma and arterio sclerosis. He was a blacksmith. Caleb was buried in Green Grove on Dec 23, 1903, Brown and Gammons, undertaker. Note: 2018 Cemetery record for Green Grove page 82 shows Caleb's parents also buried in Green Grove, however I have seen their stones in the old James Huckins Cemetery along with other members of the James Huckins family. Update 2020 found disinterment record for Caleb's mother Abigail Huckins buried in New Hampton and disinterred by E Gammons, undertaker, and conveyed for reburial Green Grove Cemetery Sept 15, 1906.
