| Description | : | Jacob was born to Jacob Westfall and Judith Hornbeck on their 400 acre farm along the South Fork of the South Branch of the Potomac River. He moved to present Beverly, Randolph County, West Virginia in 1772. In 1774, he helped his father build the Westfall Fort and became active in the Virginia militia. He was wedded to Mary King in March of 1777, by Baptist minister Redding.
