Capt. Melton, an old and highly respected citizen, died at his residence 2 1/2 miles from this place on the 22nd day of July. His mortal remains were interred at Ramble Creek Church on the 23rd day by the Masonic fraternity. His funeral was preached by Rev. Mr. Waters.
