Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 3, at 2:45 p.m. at the home, and at 3:00 o'clock at the St. Paul's Lutheran church in Blue Hill. The pastor, Rev. J.N. Blue Hill Leader 2 Apr 1943 Front page LAST RITES HELD FOR CARL BOCK SATURDAY Funeral services for Carl Bock, whose death occurred Tuesday evening, March 30, were held at St. Paul's Lutheran church Saturday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock, Conducted by the pastor, Rev. J.N. Marxen. A quartette composed of Jack Peil, Howard Waechter, Mrs. Emil Kort, and Mrs. Clarence Frahm, sang. Pallbearers were Louis Muhleisen, Walter Goerig, Adolph Larson, John Trausch, Sam Ebersole and Lester Taylor. Flower bearers were Norma Mae Kuhn, Hazel Kuhn, Donna Jean Leach and Mary Jo Melmer. Burial was in the Blue Hill Cemetery. Those from a distance attending the funeral were Mrs. Emil Kuhn of Afton, Iowa; Mr. & Mrs. Ed Funk of Topeka, Kansas; Cpl. & Mrs. LaVern Muhleisen and baby son, Robert, of Gainsville, Texas. Obituary Carl Adolph Bock was born April 3, 1892. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith by the Rev. C. Schubkegel on May 15, 1892, and was confirmed by the Rev. S. Buechner, on March 24, 1907. On Feb 16, 1920, he was married to Miss Alma Kuhn. To this union one child, Madalynn, was born. His entire life was spent in and around Blue Hill. For the past two years, following an operation on March 29, 1941, he in ill health and suffered much after another operation on October 16 last year his strength steadily failed until he passed away Tuesday evening, March 30, 1943, at 9:20 at the age of 50 years, 11 months, and 28 days. The deceased was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran church. His burial took place on the same date, which he was born 51 years ago. He leaves to mourn, his wife, Alma; one daughter, Madalynn and her husband, Corporal LaVern Muhleisen and a grandson, Ronald, of Gainsville, Texas; his mother, Mrs. Christine Bock of Hastings; two sisters Mrs. Cora Melmer of Hastings and Mrs. Gertrude Versaw of Ayr; one brother, John of Blue Hill; one half�sister, Mrs. Laura Kerr of Hastings; one half�brother Fred of Blue Hill; also a host of relatives and friends.
