At the age of five his parents moved to Friedensau, Nebraska where he attended the Lutheran Parochial school. He was confirmed in 1897 by Rev. A. Groerich of Friedensau. On February 8, 1910 he was united in holy matrimony with Miss Louise Lenz of Oelwein, Iowa. At the age of five his parents moved to Friedensau, Nebraska where he attended the Lutheran Parochial school. He was confirmed in 1897 by Rev. A. Groerich of Friedensau. On February 8, 1910 he was united in holy matrimony with Miss Louise Lenz of Oelwein, Iowa. This marriage was blessed with ten children, Alice, Mrs. Viola Claymon, Lawrence, Mrs. Agnes Oltjenbruns, Clarence Edna, Velma, Harry, Phyllis and Faye. To mourn his departure are his bereaved wife, the children, seven daughters and three sons, three grandchildren, Everette, Robert and Delvin, four sisters, Mrs. Anna Christoffersen and Mrs. Marie Peterson both of Kansas City, Missouri, Mrs. Emma Drews of Hebron, Nebraska and Mrs. Henry Wittmershaus of Hampton, Nebraska, one brother, Fred Kroeger of Carleton, Nebraska, besides a great number of other relatives and friends. He reached the age of 54 years, 1 month and 26 days. He moved with his family in 1920 to Phillips County on a farm 4½ miles northwest of Holyoke. Mr. Kroeger died Wednesday morning, July 28, 1937, at 2:30 following an operation for a ruptured gall bladder at the local hospital Tuesday night.
