She was 68 years old. Mrs. Kroeger, a faithful member of the Lutheran church, attended the Lutheran loyalty dinner the evening before her death. She suffered a stroke during the night and was taken to the hospital Friday morning. Funeral services were conducted at Zion Lutheran Church at 2:00 o'clock Monday afternoon, with Rev. R. Einspahr, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment was in Holyoke Memorial Park. Arrangements were in charge of the Lewis Funeral Home. A daughter of Albert and Hermine Meyer Lenz, Mrs. Kroeger was born November 7, 1886, near Oelwein, Iowa. She was baptized in infancy and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith on April 14, 1901. She was united in marriage with William Kroeger of Deshler, Nebraska at Oelwein, Iowa on February 8, 1910. Their marriage was blessed with ten children, all of whom survive. Mr. and Mrs. Kroeger lived on a farm near Carlton, Nebraska until 1921, when they moved to a farm northwest of Holyoke. Mrs. Kroeger spent most of her time on this farm until moving to Holyoke in 1954. Her husband preceded her in death in 1937. Surviving Mrs. Kroeger are three sons, Lawrence, Clarence and Harry Kroeger, all of Holyoke; seven daughters, Alice Kroeger, Tehachapi, California, Mrs. Viola Holtzman, Holyoke, Mrs. Agnes Oeltjenbruns, Delta, Colorado, Mrs. Edna Fraser, Mishawaka, Indiana, Mrs. Velma Hagemann, Idalia, Mrs. Phyllis Ellis, Aurora, and Mrs. Faye Anderson, Brighton; 13 grandchildren; five brothers, five sisters, and many other relatives. Out-of-town people who attended the funeral were Martin and Carl Lenz, both of Oelwein, Iowa; Mrs. Charles Schrader, Maynard, Iowa; Mrs. Martha Schmoldt, Waterloo, Iowa and Mrs. Raymond Zummack, Jesup, Iowa. CARD OF THANKS We take this means of expressing our appreciation and gratitude for the many kind deeds, flowers and helpfulness of our friends and neighbors in the time of our sorrow and bereavement in the death of our dear mother and grandmother. We are especially grateful to Rev. R. Einspahr and the choir for their kindly ministrations.
