Millage, 85, who passed away Sunday, November 18, at Scottsdale, Arizona, following a lingering illness. Rev. Allan Atkins, minister of the church, officiated at the services. Interment was in Holyoke Memorial Park. Thompson Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Carl Gay Millage, youngest of 11 children of Jacob H. and Carrie A. Millage, was born June 24, 1888, at Wakonda, near Yankton, South Dakota. He attended schools at Vermillion, South Dakota. In 1904 he moved with his father to Colorado and settled on a ranch 12 miles southwest of Holyoke. Following the death of his father he continued raising commercial cattle for several years. In 1909 he was married to Alta Gladys Anderson and to this union five children were born. As his children attained school age, Mr. Millage moved to Holyoke to send them to Holyoke schools. In later years he began spending the winter months in Arizona and finally bought a home and became a resident of Arizona. Mr. Millage was a member of the First Christian church in Holyoke. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Zelda Temple in 1951. He is survived by his wife, Alta; two sons, Harold and Gerald, Holyoke; two daughters, Hazel Clark, Livermore, California and Glenda Stahl, Scottsdale, Arizona; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
