Millage October 28, 1981, with James Mort officiating. Alta Gladys Millage, daughter of James T. and Mary E. Anderson was born August 21, 1885 near Valparaiso, Indiana. She passed away October 25, 1981 at the age of 96 years. At the age of five years Alta moved with her family to Colorado. After a few years they moved to Oregon where they lived for six years. They then moved to Nebraska where she was baptized at the age of 14 years in the Christian Church at Blue Hill, Nebraska. She received her education and a degree from the Aurora Business College, which led to a position in a Holyoke law firm. In ceremonies at Holyoke, in 1909 she married Carl G. Millage who was engaged in farming and ranching operations in Phillips and Yuma Counties. They became the parents of five children; Harold and Gerald Millage of Holyoke, Hazel Clark of Livermore, California, Glenda Stahl of Mesa, Arizona and Zelda Temple who passed away in 1951. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Millage, in 1973. Alta Millage was the last charter member of the First Christian Church in Holyoke and was a faithful member until ill health prevented her attendance. She was a past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star before attaining her 50-year membership in 1972, and served as secretary for several years. Alta Millage hopes to be remembered but not grieved by those who survive her passing which include, besides four of her children, her brother, Ralph L. Anderson of Holyoke; two cousins, Elizabeth Dille Thompson of Holyoke and Paul Dille of Houston, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Out of town people attending were; Mrs. Jack Stahl, Mesa, Arizona; Mrs. Robert Clark, Livermore, California; Mrs. Sam Maynes, Durango, Colorado; Dr. and Mrs. Gayln Stahl, Larimer, Wyoming; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stahl, Denver, Colorado; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Millage, Fort Collins, Colorado, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Millage, Castle Rock, Colorado.
