Description	:	Carl was born in Creighton NE to Albert and Marie Suhr. He attended parochial school at Evangelical Lutheran School at Bazile Mills, NE for seven years and he graduated from Creighton High School in 1941. Carl was drafted into the United States Army in 1945, with basic training in Ft. Bliss, Texas as an anti-aircraft gunman. In 1946 Carl was assigned to Tokyo, Japan and then was honorably discharged in 1947. On November 11-1951, Carl was united in marriage to Wilma E. Kruse at Bazile Mills. To this union, six children were born.... Read More	Carl was born in Creighton NE to Albert and Marie Suhr. He attended parochial school at Evangelical Lutheran School at Bazile Mills, NE for seven years and he graduated from Creighton High School in 1941. In 1946 Carl was assigned to Tokyo, Japan and then was honorably discharged in 1947. On November 11-1951, Carl was united in marriage to Wilma E. Kruse at Bazile Mills. To this union, six children were born. In 1967, Wilma died from Cancer at the age of 32, leaving Carl to raise their children. In 1968, he married Helen Reed from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Helen passed away in 1982, from cancer, at the age of 57. In 1987, Carl married Lila Finke in North Platte NE. Lila passed away in 2000, from complications of diabetes. Carl managed grocery stores both in Creighton and Plainview Nebraska and Sioux Falls, SD. From 1953-1963 he owned his own grocery store in Viborg, South Dakota and in Pipestone and LuVerne, Minnesota. He left the grocery store business and then worked for Nash Finch Company starting in 1976, as a retail consultant, which moved him to North Platte. After Carl retired in 1994 he moved to Hershey NE and helped his son, who owned Gary's Super Foods in Hershey. His hobbies included intarsia and woodworking, which were displayed at Gary's Super Food. Carl also enjoyed car racing and high school sports. Carl had attended Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in North Platte since 2000. He is survived by his companion, Mildred Gier of North Platte Brother; Allen Suhr of New Jersey Sister-in-law Betty Suhr of Creighton NE. Sons; Carl D. (Wendy)of Frankemuth Michigan, Kevin (Angie) of Brooklet, Georgia and Gary (Chris) of North Platte NE. Daughters; JoAnne (Clair) Nagel of Reno Nevada and Kathryn (Steve) Clowes of Monument CO. 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 3 step children, Janet (Tom) Withers, of Pierre, SD., Cathy (Bob) Furne of Vienna, WV and John (Gail) Reed of Arnold, NE. and their families.
