Reverend Paul Banitt officiated with burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Creighton. Reverend Fred Jensen sang "Precious Lord Take My Hand" and the congregation sang "Amazing Grace", "How Great Thou Art", and "Wht a Friend We have in Jesus". All were accompanied by organist Shirley Kelley, The eulogy was read by Randy Nelson. Pallbearers were Curt, Lloyd and Randy Nelson, Greg, Brent and Scott Heiss. Arrangements were by Brockhaus Funeral Home of Creighton. Carl J. Jorgensen was born Aug. 17, 1914, to Peter and Marie (Petersen) Jorgensen at Bazile Mills. He attended rural Center school. He married Alta Nygaard Feb. 10, 1940 at Winnetoon. They farmed west of Creighton and he also did shelling for many of the farmers in the area. In 1980 they moved to Creighton and he operated a trucking business. His wife died June 4, 1986. Carl passed away Aug. 23, 1996, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. His survivors include sons, Bruce of Creighton, Bernard of Winnetoon and Jerry of Lincoln; daughter, Mrs. Lyle (Judy Heiss of Page; six grandchildren; brother, Maurice Jorgensen of Osage, IA; sisters, Mrs. Bertha Scheer of Rantoul, IL, Mrs. Alma Hansen and Mrs. Helen Walker, both of Blair; and special friend, Lorene Patent of Randolph. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, three half-brothers and two half-sisters. The family has designated memorials to the Bethseda Mini Camp in Winnetoon.
