Description	:	"Mrs. Marie Jorgensen, born in northern Denmark on July 29, 1873, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Petersen, died suddenly April 6 at the home of her son, David, at Northwood, Ia., at the age of 89. Funeral services were conducted April 9 at Bethesda Lutheran Church, Winnetoon, with the Rev. J. H. Reentz officiating. Hymns were sung by Mrs. Lyle Nielsen and by a trio composed of Mrs. Harvey Sorensen, Mrs. Roland Nielsen and Mrs. Hans Bonnesen. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Creighton. The deceased was baptized shortly after her birth, grew up in her native country and was confirmed there in the Lutheran faith. She was married to Peter Jorgensen. Eight children were born to them, all of whom are living. Mrs. Jorgensen came to the United States with her husband and family in 1904. They first settled in Wayne County and later came to Knox County where she lived until a few years ago, when she left to make her home with her children. Surviving are her children, John of Winner, S.D., Chris and Raymond of Norfolk, Maurice and Ervin of Osage, Ia., Alma and Helen of Blair, David of Northwood, Ia., Bertha of Wyckoff, Minn., and Carl of Creighton; 39 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and relatives in Denmark. Her husband, Peter Jorgensen, died Aug. 15, 1942. Out-of-town relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. N. J. Hansen and Mr. and Mrs. Myron Walker of Blair; Mrs. Richard L. Johnson of Omaha; Mrs. Wilbur McCaskey and Kirsten of Castletown, Ill.; Mr and Mrs Edwin Scheer of Wykoff, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Jorgensen and Milton and Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Jorgensen of Osage, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. David Jorgensen, Beth and Elaine and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Jorgensen of Northwood, Ia.; Raymond Jorgensen and Mr. and Mrs. Chris Petersen of Norfolk; Mrs. John Carson of Earlham, Ia.; Mrs. Emma Jorgensen of Niobrara; Mr. and Mrs. John Jorgensen and Mrs. Irene Dryer of Winner, S.D.; Marvin Jorgensen of Gregory, S.D.; Ernest Larson of Carroll, Vermond Nelson, Mrs. Edna Rasmussen, Eddie Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Jorgensen, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Petersen and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Pfieffer of Winside; Magnus Petersen and Mrs. Elmer Pestal of Pilger; Mr. and Mrs. Orville Harrison of Wayne; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hinrichs of Laurel; and Susan Scheer of Wykoff, Minn; Mrs. Harvey Petersen of Pilger; Mrs. Maurice Hansen of Carroll."
