Description	:	Carl Jacobitz was born in Grunow West Prussia Germany on April 15, 1853. There he received his Christian training and was confirmed by Pastor Klein. As a young man of study character he served his country and received an honorable discharge. On Oct 3, 1882 he was married to Wilhelmina Lepinske. There he received his Christian training and was confirmed by Pastor Klein. As a young man of study character he served his country and received an honorable discharge. On Oct 3, 1882 he was married to Wilhelmina Lepinske. On July 4, 1883, he with his wife and family came to America and lived for a short time at Riverdale, IL. In Oct 1884 they came to Adams County, settling near Kenesaw. He and his family joined Zion Lutheran Church and he remained a faithful member until his death. His wife preceded him in death, having passed away April 15, 1929. In the last month and years of his life it became noticeable that Grandpa Jacobitz often said that his days were numbered. He made his home with his daughter, Mrs George Plambeck. He died on February 29, 1940, having reached the age of 86 years, 10 months and 14 days. He leaves to mourn, his three daughters, Mrs H Borchers, Mrs G Plambeck, Mrs Emma Aufdenkamp and three sons, Ed Jacobitz, William Jacobitz and Ernest Jacobitz, also 16 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs Wilhelmina Schmidt and Mrs Alvina Berndt. Honorary pallbearers were Heye Borchers, Martin Luehring, Julius Schukei, Ferd Schukei, Leo Hemberger, Edward Einspahr and active pallbearers were his grandchildren, Wilfred and Erwin Plambeck, Harvin and Willard Borchers, Mervin Jacobitz, Clarence Goelz. The funeral was held March 3, 1940, Rev A W Wilk officiating. Interment in Zion Wanda Lutheran Cemetery.
