Description	:	Carlos Tunis was born near Milan, Italy, February 9, 1887, and died December 27, 1918, age 31 years, 10 months and 18 days. His mother died October 18, 1897. He was married to Miss Velma Cox of Hall Summit, Kansas, Sept 2, 1917 by the Rev. C.L.Love of Vinland, Kansas. He leaves to mourn his going, his wife, Mrs. Velma Tunis, his father , Louis Tunis and step-mother, Mrs. Louis Tunis, a brother Edward Tunis, a sister, Mrs. Horace Wood, all of Netawaka, Kansas. He was converted in the year 1907 under the pastorate of Rev. Frank Vernon and united with the M.E. Church of Netawaka, of which he was a faithful member at the time of his death. He was a member of official board of the church and a tireless Sunday school worker. Although no children blessed their home, he was a great lover of children and when in their company was one with them. His congenial nature and strong christian character endeared him to all who knew him. At the time of his death he was Junior Warden of the Masonic Polar Star Lodge, Kansas 130, Netawaka, Kansas, in which organization he did splendid and brilliant work and will be greatly missed by his brethren. His going is our loss, but heaven's gain. Funeral services were held in the M.E. Church, Netawaka, Kansas, December 29, 1918, conducted by the pastor, W.H.Bunting. It is sad that one we cherish Should be taken from our home, But the joys that do not perish Live in memory alone.
