She had battled a number of illnesses throughout her life, and was diagnosed with sarcoma last January. Carol was born in West Point on February 8, 1951, the youngest of four children, to Orville F. and Volline M. (Kienbaum) VonSeggern. She was baptized on the day of her birth. She had battled a number of illnesses throughout her life, and was diagnosed with sarcoma last January. Carol was born in West Point on February 8, 1951, the youngest of four children, to Orville F. and Volline M. (Kienbaum) VonSeggern. She was baptized on the day of her birth. She grew up on the family farm near Scribner. She was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, and graduated with the Logan View high school class of 1969. After graduation Carol received an associates degree from Norfolk Community College in Norfolk. She then moved to Omaha where she graduated from the Clarkson School of Nursing and practiced her calling into nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Carol was a nurse at Clarkson for several years. She then went to work as a nurse at Immanuel Medical Center for the next fifteen years. Both of the hospitals are in Omaha. Carol and Dale G. Suhr were married on May 11, 1974, at St. John Lutheran Church. They parented three children, all who live at home. Carol loved music, flowers, gardening and making crafts. She especially enjoyed home crafts featuring an apple motif. Survivors include her husband, Dale; son, Nick; daughters, Lindsay and Natalie, all of Omaha; parents, Orville and Volline VonSeggern; of Omaha; mother-in-law, Theresa Suhr of Scribner; brothers, David of Uehling and Nolan of Hooper; sister, Connie Wegner of St. Paul, Mn., and many, many relatives and dear friends.
