VonSeggern, 68, of the Hooper/Uehling area died Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, at Fremont Health Medical Center Nolan was born May 25, 1947, in West Point, NE to Orville and Volline (Kienbaum) VonSeggern. He grew up on the family farm 4 ½ miles west of Uehling, NE, graduating from Uehling High in 1965. He married his high school sweetheart, Connie Mahlendorf, on Sept. 10, 1967, in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Cuming County Line, the same church he was baptized and confirmed in. After their marriage they raised a family and farmed, the last 35 years on his family farm. They were blessed with four children. Nolan served in the Army National Guard from 1965 to 1971. Nolan was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, CCL, serving in many different ways. He was a board member of the German Mutual Insurance Company in Scribner, was a member of the Uehling Lions Club, and previously bowled in West Point and Fremont. He loved to golf with his sons and his grandkids. Nolan was an organ donor. Survivors include: his wife, Connie of Hooper; children, Kyle VonSeggern of Hooper, Amy (Darrin) Brand of Homer and Daniel (Rebecca) VonSeggern of Wahoo; eight grandchildren, Karina, Colin, Jaz, Jake, Maya, Devin, Breanna and Zach; parents, Orville and Volline VonSeggern of Omaha; brother, David (Donna) VonSeggern of Uehling; sister, Connie (Duane) Wegner of Minnesota; and nieces and nephews. Nolan was preceded in death by his daughter, Beth; and sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Dale Suhr. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Cuming County Line. Bob Ball and the Rev. Joel Schroeder will officiate. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at Ludvigsen’s Hooper Funeral Chapel with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. The funeral is Wednesday 10:30 am at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Cuming County Line. Bob Ball and Rev. Joel Schroeder will officiate. Burial is in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials will be determined at a later date.
